No roof is truly flat, and the good ones are not
A flat roof is a low-pitched roof that has to move water by a slope you can barely see. When it sits level, or sags, water collects, and standing water is what wears out a flat roof: it finds a seam, a blister or a poor upstand, and the first you know is a stain on the ceiling underneath.
The coverings we lay are EPDM, a single sheet of synthetic rubber, and GRP, glass-reinforced polyester laid in place. Both can last for decades if the deck beneath is sound and the edges, drains and wall joints are done properly. Old felt that is patched and blistered can be repaired when the damage is local, and renewed when it is not.
The survey checks the deck for soft or rotten timber, the falls, the outlets and the upstands before it checks the surface. We tell you honestly whether you need a repair or a full renewal and what the difference will cost.

EPDM rubber
One large sheet bonded to the deck, with few seams to fail. A good choice for extensions and garages.
GRP fibreglass
A seamless finish laid in place that follows awkward shapes and details well, such as around roof lights and dormers.
